Holy Spirit Insight
There is something sacred about the quiet moments inside a car.
For many women, it is the one place where the mask finally comes off.
After taking care of everyone else…
After finishing another long day…
After smiling through another difficult conversation…
After saying, "I'm fine," one more time…
The car door closes.
The engine is turned off.
The silence settles.
And the tears begin to fall.
No audience.
No expectations.
No need to explain.
Just a heart that has carried more than anyone realizes.
Perhaps you have been there.
Maybe after a difficult doctor's appointment.
A painful phone call.
A family conflict.
A disappointing meeting.
Or perhaps there was no single reason at all.
Your heart simply became too full.
The beautiful truth is this:
The tears that fall in the privacy of your car never fall outside the presence of God.
Long before anyone else knows what happened, your Heavenly Father is already there.
He is not embarrassed by your tears.
He is not disappointed by your weakness.
He is not asking you to "hold it together."
Instead, He gently whispers:
"Come to Me. Let Me carry what has become too heavy for you."
Sometimes the deepest prayers are never spoken with words.
Sometimes they are prayed through tears.
And your Heavenly Father understands every one of them.
Bible Story Reflection
After the death of her brother Lazarus, Martha ran to meet Jesus.
Mary, however, stayed behind, overwhelmed by grief.
When Jesus finally stood before her, she fell at His feet weeping.
Scripture tells us something remarkable.
Jesus did not immediately begin teaching.
He did not tell her to stop crying.
He did not correct her emotions.
Jesus wept.
Before He performed the miracle, He entered her sorrow.
Before He raised Lazarus, He shared her tears.
That is the heart of our Savior.
He meets us before He mends us.
He comforts us before He changes our circumstances.
He reminds us that His presence is often the first miracle He gives.

I remember one particular afternoon when I pulled into a quiet parking lot.
I wasn't there to shop.
I wasn't meeting anyone.
I simply could not drive another mile.
I turned off the engine and rested both hands on the steering wheel.
For several moments I just sat there in silence.
I had spent the day encouraging others.
Listening.
Serving.
Smiling.
Doing everything I knew to do.
But inside, my own heart was tired.
The tears had been waiting all day.
I lowered my head onto the steering wheel, and they finally came.
Not polite tears.
Not quiet tears.
Just the honest tears of a heart that had reached its limit.
I whispered only a few words.
"Jesus… You already know."
That was all I could pray.
And somehow, that was enough.
As I sat there, I became deeply aware that I was not alone.
The Holy Spirit gently reminded me that before I arrived in that parking lot, God was already there waiting for me.
He knew every conversation that had broken my heart.

That afternoon my circumstances did not suddenly change.

The parking lot had become my prayer room.
The steering wheel had become my altar.
And my tears had become worship.

If tears come, don't stop them.
Offer them to God.
He understands what your heart is saying even when words cannot.
3. Remember His Presence
The next time you sit behind the steering wheel, whisper:
"Jehovah Shammah, thank You for being here with me."

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for being Jehovah Shammah—the Lord who is always there.
